Victorian Christmas

Merry Christmas! We are ensconced in our nice suite at the Admiral Inn spending the day reading and relaxing. Tonight we'll go to the Blethering Place for Christmas dinner. The day is sunny, but cold, and we elected to just take things easy. There is one channel on the TV that has a log fire burning. No music, just the sound of a fire crackling away. Very nice and soothing!

Bill fixed breakfast for me this morning, which I enjoyed, and this afternoon I'm reading a Robert Goddard book about Scotland and remembering our various trips there. Bill is reading another book by
Goddard that I finished Wednesday. I read Lesley's gift - "The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie" Wednesday and yesterday, and think I'll be ready for the next in the series. He's an entertaining writer.

Tomorrow we have some things planned, but knowing us, part of the day will be spent reading!

Better and better

Finally got some news about the surgery date - a week from today. Markers are promising, so maybe no cancer.

First of many - I hope

Tomorrow I'll find out whether I go on for some more years, or if this will be it. Heavy. I'm not sure that I feel scared, but I know I feel very sad. I still have many things I want to do, and places I want to see - and especially grandchildren all grown up. So the news tomorrow will be pretty important.
